Imagine what your wallet will look like once your tax return has landed in your pocket. You can get a head start on debt payments or a savings goal. Taxes are your civic duty; you might as well find something to be excited about.
Here are our essential tax tips for the financial dawdler.
Find All of your W2’s
If you bounced around workplaces last fiscal year, it’s time to make some calls to pick up every W2 in your name. You’ll need them all.
Go and visit your workplaces of yesteryear, it won’t be too bad.
Calculate your W2 IRA Contributions
Did you contribute to your IRA? Traditional IRA contributions are completely tax-deductible. Make sure you know exactly how much you’ve contributed before you file.
If you haven’t made an IRA account yet now is the best time to get started. Everyone loves tax-free savings!
Don’t Pay for Tax Services If You Don’t Have To
Paying to file your taxes may be an unnecessary annual expense for you. If you make $73,000 or less, you can file without any charges on the IRS’s website.
File by Monday, April 18
