6 Date Ideas Under $10

by Allison

Being in a relationship can be pricey. We want to share experiences and do fun things with our partner, but it can be challenging when the first thing we think about doing is getting dinner, or going to the movies; which can really rack up money if done weekly. The good thing is, we got creative for you and compiled a list of 6 date ideas that will cost you no more than $10! Whether you and your S.O are feeling outdoorsy, or if you want more of a cozy vibe, we have options for you. Read on to find the perfect inexpensive activity for your next date night.

Go on a Hike

If you live in a city where there are a lot of trails or forests, consider going on a hike! It’s a great way to bond with your partner, especially if you both love nature. Take in pretty scenery, and chat along the way. You can also introduce variety in your hikes by picking a different trail every time, which can really switch up the vibe of your date. You can pick an easy and scenic hike for a relaxing date, or pick a harder trail up mountains to challenge each other and create more of a teamwork experience. Either way, hiking is a totally free and fun activity to introduce into your dates.

Go to a Farmer’s Market

Another cost effective date idea is to visit a farmer’s market. This idea is totally free, unless you choose to pick something up while you’re there. If you do choose to buy something, most items will cost you less than $10. Farmers markets are a great place to walk and browse around, and usually have super lively atmospheres. If you and your sweetheart are foodies, it can be even more special to walk around and look at all the different food stands and produce being sold. You can even make it your own little buffet by trying snacks from multiple vendors!

 Watch the Sunset

Watching the sunset is a classic, romantic, and not to mention free date idea that is a lovely way to spend date night. All you need to do is pack up a couple blankets (one to sit on and one to wear), and head to the ideal spot for sunset viewing, whether that be a park, the beach, or just in your backyard. You can also pack some snacks and drinks from home to enjoy while you watch the sun go down. This is one of our favorite no cost dates because it’s so simple, yet so enjoyable!

Have an At-Home Movie Night

If you and your partner love watching movies together, and always opt for a movie theater date night, consider having a movie night at home! Make some popcorn, buy some candy and soda, and cuddle up together by the tv. It’s the cheaper (and cozier) version of going to the movies and the best part is that it doesn’t cost $18 a person!

Painting and Wine Date

This one is for my creative couples out there. All you’ll need for your DIY paint and sip studio is to go to your local craft store and buy some cheap painting supplies like canvases, brushes, and paint. Then, buy a bottle of wine that fits your budget and you’re set. You can even prepare a snack board with foods you have in your pantry to elevate the experience. Consider following a painting tutorial on YouTube or just go with your own flow, and you both will end up with painting masterpieces!

Spa Night

Having an at home spa night is a romantic way to unwind and connect with your partner. It can be super cost efficient too if you do it the right way. All you’ll need for this date is massaging lotion, a face mask, a lip mask, and a tweezer. For the facial and lip mask, you can opt to buy one from the store, or you can make your own using ingredients like avocado, honey, and turmeric. Other than that, the items you’ll need for this date should be readily available at your home. To make it fancier, you can light some candles, get in bathrobes, play music, and take a bubble bath full of essential oils to really get the full spa night experience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, dates don’t have to be expensive. There are plenty of ways to have fun and spend quality time with your partner without spending any money. Whether you want to enjoy the outdoors with a hike, discover new food vendors at a farmer’s market, have a cozy night in by watching movies, or enjoy the sunset, there is an option for every couple. Instead of breaking the bank next time you want to go on a date, consider trying one of these cheap and fun dates!
